So far something like 4 entries that do not follow the special rules...

All damn good beatmakers here, would be easy for you to do it... So what's up?

And i hate it if you are pretty high on my list and i can not vote for you...

Awww shit. Glad I checked in, I fucked up on this rule as well. Have been cooking on an entry with just one additional version. Oh well, I'll just play fanboy this week.

You have still 15hours to add something...

Otherwise i would be happy  to listen to your  marked non-entry ;)

..hi..

unfortunately I don't know who did the song of the provided sample.. all I know it's nr. 11 on a cd I can't find anymore..

took the low piano from that and made it into a bass line..
and a 'tsh' sound from the woman as sorta a shaker sound..
furthermore used: the Bette Middler version.. that's where the intro comes from..  also turned the knocking into perc
the Ethel waters version.. the dusty strings..
and the Nat King Cole.. Live at the Sands version.. buncha big orchestral sounds strings and horns
introspective raps: check ;)

enjoy..

pz Joa

Yow partners in creativity,

Here's mine. Tried to tell the story from the original song into the beat in some sort of way. Took me two days to figure this shit out, but I'm here now. Sounds cool.

I also used the Ethel Waters version from 1934, sounds super vintage. I found a male choir called The Gentlemen Of St. John's doing an vocal cover which I used in there too (somewhere).

I'll be doing my homework tomorrow, checking the submissions and submit my vote. Looking forward to hear you guys' work!

Peace.

Grimm

Yoo, loved the rules. Had fun with this. Used some piano bits from the main sample, also used some vocals from Rosemary Clooney as well as from an a capella version I found, as well as some vocals and textures from the Carmen McRae version. Can't wait to check everyone's flips out, Peace!

This was fun! congrats Jay!

Had a bit of a shock moment when I re-read - thought there were no synths allowed, luckily thats not the case! :D

synth & keys & bass (all Korg Minilogue)
drums and everything else were done in Live10

samples used besides the provided:

hope you enjoy!

What's good people, How are we all doing?

Some interesting rules this week, I managed to mash together some sort of beat using the provided sample and two other versions of the same song.

Heres the two other version I used..

Miss Otis regrets ~~ Ella Fitzgerald
Miss Otis Regrets ~~ Bette Midler ~~ Starring Joan Crawford

Peace.

gonna edit post soon with what I did

belated explanation:lol:

I used vocal cut on the main sample to isolate the piano then chopped the chords up (which is why there are some distant vocals that chop in and out with the changes). Then I chopped up the pianos from these two versions on top of what I came up with, and used the misheard vocal lyric for the song motif/title. Also added some piano chords/organ and a UFO/scifi type synth all in the background. Got super carried away and had a lot of fun especially with piano chopping, ended up not being fully happy after a couple of days so might throw in another non-entry

I made a mistake on this special rule , just used the given sample n another song version , so I edit my track title to a non-entry . I'm so sorry for my misunderstanding...
