Madlib the Rock Konducta

Recommended Posts

Anyone else a little shocked that these are not sold out?

"This 45 was originally produced for Madlib’s San Francisco show in June 2013. Only 100 copies were made in time for the show, from a total of 500. We have some of the remaining copies here, in stock and ready to ship. This is strictly vinyl. No digital or CD."

By the sounds of it (seems to me) these will make it to a few choice shops?

The sleeve to my copy opens like a folder and has to be in a plastic sleeve...are they all printed like that or was it just the first batch?

That's not cool if these are going to be shipped in folder sleeves with no outer plastic sleeves. OR... Did you get yours at the show?

I'm not too shocked. The single sounds way better on vinyl cranked up REAL LOUD!!

I had mine picked up at a show... I received a plastic sleeve though. Just wondering if that was part of the "rushed" nature of the release or if they all come like this.

There was 100 ready to sell during the show. 400 more were printed. They put only 300 copies in the rappcats store (the half of it had been sold at this point). I'm guessing there's another 100 copies somewhere. Hopefully they'll make it to hhv.de...

Anyone notice the Paypal goes to Egon/Now Again? Seems like Egon stole Madlib away from ST lol

Naw, he is just The Madlib's manager.

Just placed my order.. The shipping to the UK was more than the vinyl itself lol.

Can't wait to hear it though!

Track 5 is "Minze (Come Closer)" from MMS # 11.

So only 4 new tracks ...

Damn! Always loved that track though, one of the instrumental highlights from #11 for sure.

Gonna have it on wax twice I guess... 3 times when Rock Konducta actually comes out?

Whatever happened to Cocaine Piñata?

I think they might have just jumped the gun when they announced this project. I wouldn't be surprised if tracks were still being laid.

anybody else get theirs?

REALLY looking forward to the full length after giving the 7" a few listens. If it's all stuff like Licorice (the beginning) and Welcome (the end) (aka Minze), I'll be in heaven. Not a bad track in the bunch in my opinion. and here here for 45s that play at 33. more bang for that buck.

and yeah they all come with the cheapo folded insert, although the art is obviously great and i suppose it's better than just a paper sleeve like Earth Sounds.

I'm going to have to agree with everything stated there.

Since this does play at 33 wouldn't this technically be just a 7".

This is so sick. Does anyone believe we will hear a full length of this in the next 50 years?

Not likely.

Just add like 1000 to your cart and it says there's not enough and how many are left

If I got confirmation that wasn't a bootleg I'd cop for the artwork alone. Would have been tighter if that Carhart mix got pressed up since that had new music. But I guess a best of the MMS is inevitable.

Yes. That mix was criminally slept on.

I guess we'll see about this as October 4th approaches... Not a lot of tracks for a 12", maybe there will be an etching or something cool on the flip! somehow I doubt it though.

Off topic, but has anyone noticed this apparent vinyl release of that free download The Pill Jar?

Pill Jar is being released on 1/LP for only a couple stores, but this is not the complete track list I see right now at HHV. If you followed the MMS series and have all the releases, probably not a record you'll be looking for. There was plenty of people who found the MMS series too much to keep up with -- for them, this a great album.

The artwork was from a Brazilian illustrator I found named Rogerio Puhl. Can't wait to see it as the printed sleeve.
