It that the art thingy you heat up and melt the plastic together? Looks like a bunch of tiny tetris pieces.
  2. STBB 576 Grime Folk Music (SnaresHellaOptional Week)

Cool, I can't stand dry ass snare drums either. The *thud* or *plunk* sounds.
  3. STBB 576 Grime Folk Music (SnaresHellaOptional Week)

I saw the title and thought it was gonna be this kind of folk. So, no shhhnares mean just not a traditional snare drum? Or nothing on the 2 and 4?

Cool, man. Glad you got it working. Same here, I've been using Firefox for 2 decades. Usually a update will fix those problems (or cause them) or if I try a different browser and it works it might just be the site. I know Firefox on mobile loads mobile by default, you have to change it in the options to load the desktop version. I wonder if they changed or updated something with the forum software...

What browser are you using? Win or Mac? Got the latest updates? I'm starting to wonder if this is a software issue with the logins and now this.

I know my example doesn't exactly equate to what has happened, but I'm trying to orient this conversation in the direction of future battles. The exact definitive thing that has happened by allowing this track into the battle, was a beat won that was posted 2 hours late and technically by the rules in the fine print, it should have not been considered eligible for the win or votes. I'll agree with you, it should have been addressed sooner. I'm partially at fault for that, since I posted the deadline was up, but didn't notice your post until the next day. Since issues with late posts and votes seem to pop up every few weeks lately, I would say this is more than a rare thing. So, let's work together to fix it now. The vote counters are Per.du, Supafly Arturro, BarryStudebaker, theGuen, Haq, Detritus Tabu, and myself was recently added. Rotating every week as available. Who are all the people adding tracks to the SC playlist? I was actually the one who counted the votes on this battle, then this discrepancy came up and I had to hand it over to theGuen, since I had to get up in a few hours. That's how I noticed Kongchain's beat wasn't in the playlist. I think most of us that have done the "dirty work" here at any point have all agreed (including yourself), that it's not always in the best interest to make more "dirty work" for the people who volunteer their free time to help keep this thing running. The people that help moderate shouldn't have to deal with other people's issues with computers, phones, internet service providers, lost passwords, freezing MPC's, etc. That's up to the people with the issues. I know it sucks, there's probably not much help from ST Bot nowadays and I feel for Kowalzki, but plenty of people here have had to make new accounts because of it. Keeping the forum as the only place you should post beats and votes allows visibility for the whole community to see that they were posted on time. With all that said, there has been a little discussion between the vote counters this weekend. Per.du, Detritus Tabu, theGuen, and myself (the rest haven't chimed in yet) all agree that we should keep this simple and stick to the deadlines. "If it's late, it's late." This seems to be the best solution for future battles, since it's the rules that we already have in effect. Allowing late post and votes due to technical difficulties at this point in time, would be unfair to all the other people that have been cut off in the past. Also a message to everyone: This beat battle is still for everyone, by everyone. Your voice here matters, whether you just showed up last week or have been here for years. Please remember this battle is suppose to be fun, when ceases to be that, then it's no longer worth doing.

I agree 100%. What might seem fair to one person, could actually be unfair to the rest of the crowd. A similar scenario could have panned out this way - HUNGRYMAN has problems with his login, but HUNGRYMAN still wants to get his votes in. So, HUNGRYMAN sends a message to theGuen with his votes, asking him to please post them up for him, since he can't login. HUNGRYMAN is in Central US Time and theGuen is in Central European Time. theGuen has no problems helping HUNGRYMAN, but by the time he wakes up in the morning and sees the message, he post HUNGRYMAN's votes 2 hours late, and says HUNGRYMAN sent me his votes while I was sleeping, so they're not actually late. Would an exception be made for HUNGRYMAN's technical difficulties? Would the vote spreadsheet be completely recounted because of it? Would the battle's decision be held up? Probably not. In this scenario, theGuen isn't responsible for HUNGRYMAN's timeliness or technical difficulties. I have no problem with people helping others enter this battle, but HUNGRYMAN is still responsible for making adjustments in his time to make this work. Also, theGuen isn't the drop off box to cast votes, the forum is. In the myriad of possibilities, if this exception was continued to be allowed, I could see how it might be abused. I don't believe at all that this is what happened with Kowalzki and Joa, but let's say - What if HUNGRYMAN was lying and his votes were actually late and he used theGuen to still get them accepted? Only HUNGRYMAN and theGuen would know the real time these messages were sent and received. I hope you all understand the points I'm trying to convey. Mad respect for Otelsa, he handled this most humbly. But please, in the future let's stick to the rules of this battle that we have all agreed on before hand, the ones in the fine print, both deadlines are at 12:00AM Pacific US Time. No exceptions. We have been strictly sticking to the rules recently and plenty of people have been cut off for being barely late. It's not the end of the world, worse case scenario, there is always a new battle next week. The rules here keep everything honest and fair. We should try to address situations like this past week, sooner than later in the future. And yo! Please keep the punches above the belt! (exceptions: people who troll this forum for their own amusement. examples: jacuzzi guy) Let's kill this shit, make up, make beats, and be friends, and at the least not be enemies. Peace, Toby

I just noticed that Kongchain's beat wasn't added to the playlist this week. If you used the playlist for listening and not the forum, you probably missed it like I did. Please check his tune out before considering your vote.

    1. Enzoeyeris 2. The Wolf 3. Banizzz Loads of bangers this round as usual. As much as sub-genre labeling sucks, I gotta rant for a moment. There seems to be a lot of confusion nowadays on what low fidelity is or means. More and more I see beats labeled as "lofi", that are anything but lofi. I guess it stems from beatmakers that enjoy lofi music, but really don't know how to make it. If it's not dirty, dusty, gritty... It ain't lofi. If it doesn't sound like a scratchy, ancient 78 you pulled from some mom & pop thrift store for pennies on the dollar, chalked full of allergic reactions... Then it probably isn't lofi. If you didn't bit crush or damage the audio in some fashion... Then it probably isn't lofi. Just because it's minimal, doesn't mean it's lofi. Just because you flipped some old chill jazz samples, doesn't mean it's lofi. Just because it was made on a SP-404, doesn't mean it's lofi. Don't make me come to your house, raid your fridge, steal your beat machines, and give you a fucked up haircut. And don't take this rant too serious. Enjoy yourselves.
